Library 2.0 – it’s not about technology!

When you hear “library 2.0″ do you think “technology”? How about thinking “user centered” instead. Library 2.0 is all about being a patron oriented library, providing services that are designed to meet their needs and wants. I’d like to think this isn’t really anything new! But rather a reinvention of what our best has always been.
Can you offer some some examples of how libaries being “2.0″ that don’t involve technology?

LibraryThing and Danbury PL Catalog

You’ve probably already seen it, but in case you haven’t – take a look at a sample book entry from Danbury PL’s catalog. They’ve teamed up with LibraryThing and now include descriptive tags (keywords) and lists of suggested titles in their catalog. What do you think?
